Our Mission and Statement

MDI works to serve the public interest by harnessing the power of communications to inform, debate, and educate. MDI commits to uphold and promote equality diversity and inclusion, including gender balance and social justice. MDI commits to international agreements on gender equality (such as the UNSC WPS resolutions 1325, 1820, 1888, 1889, 1960, 2106, 2122 & 2242 and the CEDAW conventions) in our mission and approach as well as the organizational policy.

Organisational Policy

Internal safeguarding policy

  • MDI commits to provide a healthy and balance working environment for all staff members, and for those we work for and with from (sexual) harassment, exploitation and abuse.
  • MDI appreciates the safety and protection of all professions, especially journalists of all genders.
  • MDI usually organizes training courses or seminars which provide useful tips and documents related to harassment or safety while working in specific conditions.

Community feedback policy

MDI is committed to effective feedback management by managing complaints about its functions in an accountable, transparent, timely and fair manner. MDI takes seriously all feedbacks by:
• accepting feedbacks that are made either orally or in writing.
• actively encouraging feedback.
• using information about feedbacks to improve the delivery of MDI functions.
• offering a robust process for the internal review of assessment decisions or actions concerning the assessment of a feedback to MDI.

The objectives of this policy are to ensure:
• fair, accountable, transparent and responsive management of feedbacks about MDI functions.
• identification and correction of errors or omissions.
• effective monitoring of complaints
